It’s sweater weather again, and i’m here for it

The Autumn-Winter season has arrived, and so has the matching climate, which I like to call Sweater Weather. There’s a host of things I despise about this season… The endless dark hours, the trips to and from school freezing to the core, and the unasked for stormy days. Yet if there’s one thing I absolutely relish is a good old cozy sweater that can keep my soul warm.

*quick second of silence*

Well, okay, it’s maybe not the only thing I look up to. I’m ever longing for the pumpkin spice everything (seriously, what else are they going to come up with this year) and the Christmas season… But, I mean, sweaters amiright? They are truly the lazy girl’s DREAM. My history with going out dressing proves that I tend to recycle clothing and like to dress the simplest as possible, practical yet cute (but mostly practical). They can be taken from morning PJ looks to casual school wear to classy evening outfits. I mean, it’s a freaking 3 in 1.

Without fail, every year, I tend to hit up the high street for some retail therapy, which I tend to unhealthily use as a stress ball. I come back with a disastrous pile of new clothes (sadly, but surely my bank transactions will back me up here).

Also, let’s be real for a quick second. The lack of light and warmth is rough on all of us. I like to lay under a chunky soft weighted blanket. Yet you’ll agree it’s not a practical thing to move around in, let alone the looks you get when you leave the house all wrapped up like a frozen burrito. Here’s where my long-standing love for sweaters comes from. They basically are fitted blankets without any looks attached. They are lifesavers in so many situations, I swear!

Last but certainly not least, they are so incredibly food-babies tolerant. God, have they been my best friends during those cold winter nights eating delicious raclettes or fondues accompanied with one or too many glasses of wine.

So, here’s my list of five sweater staples that are worth their salt !

THE RIDE-OR-DIE: ROLL NECKS

This looks so chic and adult-like… I mean, I have a true baby face and always look 5 years younger than I am… Am I onto something here? This one is from a very cute online boutique called Easy Clothes.

THE HERO PIECE: THE ANIMAL PRINT KNITwear

This is quite new for me, but I’m digging this winter version of the “sexy” animal print blouse look. This one is from this season’s Mango collection and is probably still available.

THE "I LOOKED LIKE I TRIED BUT SECRETLY DIDN'T"

Finding pieces that are built or shaped a little differently than usual looks like you paid attention to details  (the devil lies in the details). This is a true sweater weather staple!

THE "I FELT LIKE ADDING A LITTLE COLOR TODAY" SWEATER

This can be a mood-uplifting option for when you wake up in the deepest fog, look out the window, and the weather seems to be feeling exactly like you: add a little color to your life! Color is your best friend in these struggling times

THE LAZY PLAIN BUT CUTE SWEATER

These are actually so easy to pair with literally anything from light wash jeans to a leather skirt and that’s why I probably own too many of them.

The list goes on but a girl can never own too many chunky knits, right?
